Hook is the first chief investment officer in the history of The Ohio State University. He created the Office of Investments to manage the University’s long-term investment pool, which includes endowment funds.
In previous corporate roles his responsibilities have included origination and delivery of public debt and equity offerings, private placements, syndicated lending, derivatives products and capital management services.
Affiliations
Before Joining Ohio State, he was the chief investment officer at Baylor University in Waco, TX. He began that school’s investment office after its endowment had been outsourced since inception. Prior to his work at Baylor, Hook spent 20 years in the corporate and investment banking fields.
He has been an active fundraiser for many charitable and civic organizations, included United Wa, Boys and Girls Clubs, the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and the Baylor Bear Foundation.
Hook was honored in 2005 as the “Endowment Officer of the Year” by Foundation and Endowment Money Management magazine.
