Begun by a scientist-entrepreneur, RCSA has always supported innovative young researchers with big ideas. Through our Scialog, Cottrell College, Cottrell Scholars and Partners in Science programs, we fund innovative education and high-risk research with the potential to transform entire fields of study and create the breakthroughs needed to build a better tomorrow.
Scialog is a research process aimed at producing breakthroughs in complex issues of global concern. Scialog provides catalytic funding to early career scientists engaged in high-risk research. In Scialog's first round, grants were made to support work to improve the efficiency and cost of solar energy conversion to electricity or fuels. More
The Cottrell Scholar Awards funds early career faculty at U.S. research universities, who are committed to excellence in both undergraduate teaching and research. Together with the annual conference it is building a national community of outstanding scholar-educators who produce great research outcomes as well as enhance the retention and attraction of undergraduates in science. Cottrell College Science Awards jumpstart the research work of early career scientists at Primarily Undergraduate Institutions, helping them achieve lifelong, productive roles as scientist-educators. Criteria for funding include the potential to add to fundamental scientific knowledge, the potential to develop future support from other agencies, and the involvement of undergraduates in this research. The Arizona Partners in Science program provides summer research opportunities for science high-school teachers in partnership with faculty at Arizona universities. Partners seeks to improve grade 9-12 science education and increase the number of students who choose to pursue science. More
