Changes to CCSA Single-Investigator Award
Congratulations to the Cottrell Scholars who are current recipients of the 2009 Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowships. The award is given annually to 118 early career scientists and scholars.
The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. Moses Lee, dean for the natural and applied sciences and a professor of chemistry at Hope College in Holland, Mich., is the recipient of its Award for Research at an Undergraduate Institution. The award is sponsored by Research Corporation for Science Advancement.
Members of the science community often disagree about the need for more scientists in the U.S. In surveys examining the efficacy of science education and the need for more scientists, some study results suggest a dearth of scientists, while others proclaim a glut in a tight employment environment.
