Four RCSA Awardees Win 2009 Alfred P. Sloan Fellowships
Congratulations to the Cottrell Scholars who are current recipients of the 2009 Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowships. The Sloan awards are given annually to 118 early career scientists and scholars who "demonstrate outstanding promise and potential to contribute substantially to their fields."
The Cottrell Scholars/ Sloan list includes:
- Son Jin-Research Corporation grant in 2007 for "Nanoscale Magnetic Semiconductor Materials for Spintronics."
- Benjamin J. McCall- Research Corporation grant in 2007, "New Approaches to Research and Teaching in Astrochemistry: Carbocation Spectroscopy and a Novel Laboratory Course."
- Tehshik Yoon- Research Corporation grant in 2008 for "Oxidative Functionalization of Hydrocarbons Using Oxaziridines."
- Rory Waterman-Research Corporation grant "Catalytic Methods to Low-Valent Phosphorus."
